Alan Maglio (Milan, 1979) is an artist who investigates the themes of memory and the uncanny. His research takes shape through the manipulation of archival materials and photographs. The analog montage technique allows him to experiment with a synthesis - at times surreal - of iconographic elements that differ in origin and temporal location. Photographer by training, he is also the author of the films Milano Centrale - Stories from the Train Station (2007), Asmarina (2015), Bar Ethiopia (2021), works shown in the context of international film festivals. He created and edited Ultima Edizione - Storie nere dagli archivi de La Notte (2019), a volume that brought to light unpublished photographic footage from the historic Milanese newspaper La Notte, and Fotogramma/40 (2023), a publication that traces Agenzia Fotogramma's four decades of activity in the field of photo-journalism.
