Matt Gsell (pronounced Gazelle, like the animal) was raised in the western suburbs of Chicago. After 2 years at Indiana University, Matt enlisted in the Navy where he would spend the next 6 years. Upon his honorable discharge from the military, Matt would move back to the city of Chicago and finish up his degree in Sociology. It was during this time that Matt started taking improv and acting classes at Second City and fell in love with acting. Upon graduation he moved out to Los Angeles. Matt started writing his own material including the short film, "Static" and the ongoing YouTube sketch comedy series, "Broken Slinky Presents." He has had great success with his feature film script, "Tuesday," in festivals and is currently writing a dark comedy musical television series called "Happy Tavern."
I think one of the most important things to do in this business is to make your own content. You can't sit around and wait for auditions. You have to get out and make things happen. "If you can dream it, you can do it." -Walt Disney
