Ailish grew up in Cork, Ireland. She has been in the film, TV and theatre industry as an actress for over sixteen years, playing leading classic roles from Shakespeare's, Juliet (Gaiety Theatre, Dublin) to Oscar Wilde's, Cecily (Lyric Theatre, Belfast). Her break out TV role was at 16, playing Jenny in Bachelor's Walk (RTE).
In the two years of living in Toronto with her growing family, she put a hold on acting and put pen to paper instead, writing short stories inspired by her Grandparents, translating them into film and share them with the rest of the world. These are small time capsule's of Irish history, inspired by the women in her life. This is her first time being on the other side of the camera and she's very excited to share her work with you.
