Ahmed Khalil is a young filmmaker. He enrolled in the Cinema Institute in Alexandria as part of its first graduating class. His first short film, "A Rainy Spring," participated in several film festivals, including:
- Hollywood Arab Film Festival
- Alexandria Short Film Festival
- Cairo "Vision" Short Film Festival
His second short film project, "A Very Obnoxious Thing," was selected for the 7th edition of the Manassat Film Festival, where it won the Jury Award in the student competition.
He co-wrote the film project "The Departure of the Prodigal Son", which received a production grant funded in collaboration with EUNIC Egypt and the Jesuit Cultural Center in Alexandria. He also co-wrote the film project "Sea," which participated in a short film development workshop offered by Film Independent in collaboration with the US Embassy and the Luxor Film Festival.
In 2024, he founded HandyCam Films, an independent production company, with two of his friends. The company seeks to explore new art spaces and create alternative production methods.
