The Muslim widow of the village, Zamir Karati's wife, is very fond of the narrator (Hindu Brahmin youth). At one stage of Compassion, the old woman expressed her wish and after her death, the narrator Gopal would bury her in her grave. The story goes that when Gopal came to the village after spending a long time abroad, he got the news of the old woman's death. The narrator also gave soil in her grave. Here the old woman became the eternal mother. Secularism has been established here. The story depicts the harmony of people of two religions. The story is the story of a generous human relationship. This story is an example of the close human relationship that can develop between people of different religions in the bond of affection. Profile of Dr. Harun
Dr. Md Harunur Rashid, Assistant Professor of Bangla, has been working as a Assistant Director (Research & Documentation) at National Academy for Educational Management (NAEM) Bangladesh since August 2019. Prior to this he worked as Training Specialist for 01 year. He completed BA (Hons) and MA from University of Dhaka. He Joined in BCS (General Education) Cadre in 2006 (26th Batch) as a Lecturer in Pirganj Government College, Thakurgaon. Before joining in Government Service he served as a Lecturer in Birsreshtho Noor Mohammad Public College, Peelkhana; Notre Dame College, Dhaka; St. Josheph Higher Secondary School, Dhaka. He achieved Ph.D degree from University of Dhaka in 2018 in "Analyzing the Strategy of Word Formations in Bankimchandra's Novels" after successful completion of M. Phil (Part 1). He is a researcher on Language, Literature & Education. A good number of articles of Dr. Harun have been published in National and International Research Journals. He is a resource person on Bangla Language & Pronunciation. He served as a good teacher in Pirganj Govt. College, Thakurgaon; President Iajuddin Model College, Munshiganj; Khilgaon Govt. High School (Course Coordinator in Higher Seccondary level), Dhaka; Govt. Asad College, Narshingdi and Government Science College, Dhaka. He received a good number of training from NAEM, a2i, NCTB, Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC). His written story book named 'Alpo-sholpo-golpo', Drama book named 'ManchoShopan' have been published in Ekushe Bookfair 2015 & Ekushe Bookfair 2019. He directed TV drama 'Bohipir', 'Mashi-Pishi’, `Oporichita’, `Ahban’, `Mamotadi’, `Moitri’, `Guruchaya, Muktijog, Bodol'. He is a lyrics writer also. His written songs are sung by renowned singer. He directed a wonderful singing programme named ‘Urvashi Ganer Shiri’. Dr. Harun completed Bachelor of Education (B. Ed.) from Govt. Teacher's Training College, Dhaka and Merited First Class.
