Ah-Made

The Story of ALIA, AHMAD, MAK, BAPAK dan HANGER.

A part of Mak’s daily routine is making Alia’s special fried rice that she takes with her to school – a packed lunch, which is brought to her by Ahmad. Ahmad falls under Alia’s responsibility and she must be responsible for him. As cliché as any earthly tale, Hanger is Ahmad’s nemesis, who is always jealous of Alia and Ahmad, and tries to ruin their morale.

The story picks up when Bapak accidentally rides his motorcycle over a fallen tree trunk. Even though it is small in size, its impact on Ahmad's life is huge.

Ahmad is knocked from the motorcycle, rolls and lands on his back. He begs for Alia to save him, as Alia anxiously tries to get Bapak’s attention. But, as the typical Malaysian father that Bapak is, he is preoccupied with concern for his bike’s engine and ignores her. Alia can only shout – Ahmaddd!

Now Ahmad is alone. Alia is no longer by his side…

Director Biography - Fauzi Bin Rusli

Officially, Wonggadong started his career as a Façade Engineer and worked at a facade engineering firm in Bahrain - before quitting in November 2020 to pursue his passion for filmmaking.
He began his foray in the creative industry as a location manager for Viu’s hit TV series, “Keluarga Baha Don” seasons 2 & 3. In that time, he studied and observed the landscape of the the Malaysian film industry before making his directorial debut with a short film titled “AhMade” for Kancil Awards 2022, which eventually won Gold. AhMade is a smartly written comedy that feels more Thai and Japanese than anything else, absurdist and farcical, but still focused and smartly executed.
His latest directorial project is a short film titled “The Missing Trophy” for BMW Shortiers 2023 and won Best Story. This short film, just like the rest of his works, is heavily influenced by the real life experiences that he goes through.
Wonggadong has big dreams to be a filmmaker that tells untold stories through the Malay/Javanese vistas, issues currently faced by Malaysians, juxtaposed with Nusantara music - which he hopes to share with the rest of the world, as he believes that these sort of stories is what the world is looking for.
