Yan Eric Chalin began creating and editing short films in College. Soon after he joined the Canadian Forces, allowing him to finance his studies in film production at Concordia University. He was awarded Concordia's travel scholarship which gave him the opportunity to study at California State University, Los Angeles. His Quebecois (French Canadian) heritage and english speaking education clash during his artistic process, providing a cultural basis for the struggles in his films. Aging is his first short.
