Lyn Patterson is a poet, dancer, educator, and book artist who currently resides in Oakland, CA. As the host of the Adult Happy Hour podcast, she facilitates conversation and learning around sex, sensuality, eroticism, self-actualization, love, belonging and so much more. Lyn is passionate about creating space for Black people of all ages, genders, and experiences to explore their interests in topics that are typically seen as taboo. Her erotic poetry and the work of Adult Happy Hour have been featured in programming for the Museum of African Diaspora and Oakland’s Black Joy Parade. When she is not podcasting you can find her leading workshops on kink exploration, hosting adult slumber parties, and salsa dancing up a storm!
Adult Happy Hour is a podcast which centers resources, learning, and conversation about pleasure. One thing that makes AHH special is that it was developed in community with our listeners. After hosting weekly content live on Instagram during the pandemic, participants said they wanted to hear and learn more. Thus the podcast version of AHH was born and continues to have a dedicated following that spreads mostly through word of mouth and grassroots marketing. Because we fill in needs for our budding community, we often take suggestions on topics and work to fill in pleasure gaps for our largely Black and queer audience. We know that pleasure activism is a liberatory work, and we are honored to have over 5K streams with a growing audience.
