Director Biography - Yoong Wah Alex Wong

Asst Prof Dr. Yoong Wah Alex Wong obtained his Media Arts (Ph.D.) from Bournemouth University, the United Kingdom, Computer Animation (MFA) from SCAD, The University for Creative Careers, Georgia, the United States, Graphic Design (BA) from the Limkokwing University, Malaysia. Since January 2003, he a faculty member at Sabancı University, Istanbul, Turkey.

Dr. Yoong Wah Alex Wong is a versatile and well-equipped academic, media artist, photographer, and videographer, who takes his audience on a magical and mysterious journey through landscapes that are shrouded in mist and fog at the borderlands. His research in photography, video, and cinematography works focus on social and environmental issues, borderlands, climate change, human and nature interrelationship issues. Wong's photographs are always memorable, can be a surrealistic moment, and display resonance and timeless meanings. The cinematic influence in Wong's photographs is unmistakable, and many of his images appear as if they are stills from an epic journey.
