they/them -- Director / Writer / Producer -- Based in Chicago, currently in LA.
Adia focuses on genre-bending stories through the exploration of relationships — with ourselves, our community, and the obstacles that influence how we navigate the world. They explore this through a Black Queer womanist lens, often shifting between scripted narrative and documentary.
In combining their ability to build inclusive collaborative spaces as a producer while creating visceral worlds through science fiction, magical realism, and horror as a director, Ivey seeks to explore Black queer identity while imagining a future rooted in community healing.
Currently, Adia is completing their masters in AFI's producing program (class of '25).
