Adaah

Adaah is a story of a boy who has no proper name or might not give any. He has a medical condition that causes him a very short height. He used to do odd jobs for people living in his neighborhood. He used to look after the shop for the owner who has to go somewhere, and brought house groceries for neighbors. He never minds people calling him Adaah (short-height guy). He dances whenever there is a wedding procession passing from the street. His only aim in life was to get settled like every other man but his medical condition wouldn’t let him do that. One day he helps a girl (Rabia) from his society who was being eve teased by a few guys. That girl thanked him for his kind act and from that day Adaah started considering himself a grown-up guy. He stopped playing with kids, and started wearing clean and pressed clothes. Kids and neighbors were surprised to see this change in Adaah but this didn’t last long as he once overheard Rabia calling him half man. He felt offended and from that day his attitude changed. He started to ask for money in return for any work people ask him to do. He started paying visits to Shama, a dancer. One day he proposed Shama to marry him and even she refused to marry a guy like Adaah which annoyed him more. Shama was a dancer and people from society wanted her to leave the house and get settled somewhere else. One day when Adaah was passing from Shama’s house he saw a crowd of people, he gets to know that Shama committed suicide and left her infant baby abandoned.
The community refused to accept the baby and there comes the Adaah who took a larger than life decision and accepts the newborn.
