Experiencing Interruptions?

A dance at the bus stop

Kostas Mourselas wrote his absurd one-act play "Discussion on Futility" in 1974. Almost placeless (an indistinct bus stop), somewhat timeless (somewhere between 1974 and 2025, perhaps). The dance/dialogue explores the connection between movement and emotion, with the dancers expressing internal conflicts and transitions through dynamic and fluid choreography. The body becomes a tool for storytelling and confession, with shifts in rhythm and intensity highlighting the struggle between harmony and disarray, logic and prejudice. The narrow, iron bus stop boils (them), while the dancers shape a dialogue between individuality and collectivity, cunning and innocence, inviting the audience to interpret their words freely. In a constantly changing world, they choose to remain stagnant. Yet, the sole constant is the image of the woman—placed above the two men—but artificial. Was that how things were back then? And now—how are they?
