Director Biography - William Wayne Windle

William Wayne Windle is an actor/writer originally from El Paso, Texas. He has been involved in performing arts from a young age. Throughout his performing life, Windle has accumulated a skill set that ranges from heavy drama, to slapstick comedy and everything in-between. He received a B.A. in Theatre Arts from Flagler College, where he had the opportunity to act in and direct over twenty different projects. He was nominated to compete for an Irene Ryan Acting award at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival for his work as “Segismundo” in Life is a Dream.

Following his graduation, Will spent most of the summer with playwright Frank Levering at The Cherry Orchard Theater in Fancy Gap, Virginia acting in two original plays. While there, he met Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Beth Henley. The experience inspired him to write his first play, Will’s War, an adaptation of the novel of the same name, by his grandmother, Janice Woods Windle.

Will has been working closely with Emmy-winning director Karen Arthur, who directed the workshop version of Will’s War. He is well-versed in dialects having been trained in how to read and write the International Phonetic Alphabet (I.PA.). He has also directed two films, The Test and Activation Energy, as well as two plays, Funeral Parlor and For Whom the Southern Belle Tolls. Most recently, Will added a new directing credit under his belt -- the virtual online production of David Templeton's Drumming with Anubis, which received rave reviews.

Will is excited to now be able to give artists a platform to create, and is excited for what the future holds beyond.
