Director Statement

Faith is something beautiful as dangerous. I decided to direct this film as my first opera because I needed to understand something inside me. Something about a very present concept in my life: The excess. As a child I did understand that everything taken to excess is harmful.
I written this very short film at the college as a challenge to me. Hate, gratefulness and forgiveness in the same story. A situation taken to extreme to talk about religion and my opinion about it.
In september 2020 one of my Mother's brothers, my uncle, died. Dead never were something hard to me; actually I've always understood it as a natural thing. But having it so close made me look at something different. People suffer and find refuge in something greater than us; some hide in conscience, some others in reality or simplicity, but the most find a shelter in faith. But what happens when you take faith, something beautiful in a natural way, as everything to get over a problem?
A hypocritical priest and a lost man who only looks not to sink into misery.
This question came up just before we got the opportunity to start to produce our very first short film. With an script already written and this fresh thought.
Some of the challenges making this film was the low budget we had, the accessibility to certain locations, or even the crew that never even stepped into a film set. We were fortunate to get the equipment for this film because we didn't have almost nothing as a budget, and two local production houses helped us lending os almost all the equipment.
This film will always be special to me. Because here I learned about what I want to tell, and what I want the world to hear from me. There is a long way ahead and I'm glad this is my very first step with the support of a lot of friends who believe in me.
I hope audience to think about this, not as a critic about religion but a different perspective about good thing carried in a bad way.
