Abbas Mohammad Ayyoubi is a versatile professional working as an actor, writer, director, and cinematographer. He currently resides in Berlin, Germany.
Ayyoubi has a passion for style, old-fashioned aesthetics, and possesses a creative mind. He began his cinema career at the age of nine, inspired by his first film experience in Darzab, a village located in northern Afghanistan. Abbas fell in love with cinema, and his determination and vision have driven him onwards relentlessly.
In 2009, Abbas started a journey across Iran and Turkey, pursuing formal education and asylum for eight years. In 2015, he arrived in Germany. Although his Afghan education was not accredited by German schools, he started private education and training in film arts. This included directing 'Silent Love,' a short film he directed in Italy, and Parvana (Butterfly), an 18-minute drama filmed in Berlin, Germany.
Abbas has also worked on various short films and projects by other international filmmakers such as "Pinkey Swear" (dir. Tau Tau Menghan); "They Promised You That The River Ain't Deep" (dir. Laszlo Lenhardt); "Rausch" music video with professional dancer Majid Kessab (dir. Paula Romy); and "Plan B." German TV series.
Abbas established an international independent crew to assist Afghan and Iranian actors and actresses in the film Parvana. Abbas's films primarily concentrate on human rights, justice, and promoting happiness and positivity through his creativity worldwide.
Additionally, he promotes a platform for emerging talent with a particular focus on immigrants and refugees.
Abbas is currently developing his first feature film as writer-director, with a focus on precision storytelling.
