Abahgir Swargo (Heaven of the Unfortunate)

Abhagir Swargo is an adaptation of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's short story of the same name. The film is a period piece set in 1870. A poor boy is entrusted with the duty of performing his mother's last rights. But even to do so he needs to beg as the customary Hindu rituals are very expensive. The film is a commentary on the economic and caste based discrimination in India.

Tridev has graduated with a Masters in Cinema Direction from Columbia College Chicago. He is known for expressing underdog stories. He makes fictional and non-fictional films about people whose stories are generally not expressed in films. He worked as an Assistant Director in the Hindi and Bengali Film Industry for 3 years. He has been directing for the last 3 years.
