The Storytellers
Lorenzo Cassol (Belluno, 1998) developed a passion for the world of cinema from a young age. After graduating from the Human Sciences High School, he began attending the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in 2019.
In 2014, with the aim of creating films and documentaries to promote the Belluno region, he founded Dual Frame Production and began collaborating with the Associazione Fare Cinema, of which he has been president since 2015.
This role allowed him to gain experience with screenwriting, sets, and actors, leading to the creation of the medium-length film Bianco come il nero (2015), the short film Nede (2016), and the documentary Ci son le stelle (2016).
In 2015, he starred in Ciò che le nuvole non dicono, co-produced by The Old Film Farm and Ikona Film, a road movie shot between Las Vegas, Italy, and Greece, exploring adolescent issues of existential discomfort and self-discovery. For this role, he received the Best Actor Under 18 award at the Hollywood International Moving Pictures Film Festival.
In 2018, he directed the short film Soli, which addresses the topic of Hikikomori youth, a project sponsored by the Hikikomori Italia association. He also directed the short film L’Aurora, aimed at raising awareness about violence against women. The film was produced by Kublai Film and funded by the Ministry of Equal Opportunities.
In 2020, he directed Fm29.010, produced by Eni Gas e Luce; in 2021, Lupus in fiaba in collaboration with La Repubblica and the Milano Film Festival, and Il tempo del Kimchi for the Korean Institute. In 2022, he directed the brand content The Dream Factory for Arrital and the short film Il Pastore di Nuvole, funded by the Veneto Region and the Ministry of Labour.
In 2023, he directed Donna Sola, funded in collaboration with Emilia Romagna Film Commission and The Storytellers.
