Director Statement

This film, A Witch Lives in the Attic, is about as deeply personal as it could possibly be. Over the course of a year, this film was produced staying as true as possible to the original idea while navigating the difficulties that come with having no financial support. Friends and family volunteered their time as cast and crew and really just went with my vision and I can't say enough how thankful I am for each and every one of them.

I've been an artist, one way or another, my whole life and this is a sort of culmination of everything I've ever done or imagined. Themes of isolation, paranoia, identity crisis, and existentialism are always creeping their way into my work, so for this I just let those feelings ride through the whole narrative.

I like to think that a film, or any piece of art, speaks for itself, and speaks differently to everyone who views it. Despite the darkness of the story, to me what this film really means is that no matter what horrors find you, the birds will always sing when the sun comes up.
