A WISH

Fu-quan, who works at a fisherman association, grew up with Jin-shan and Jin-de, the crew members of fishing boats. The trio prayed to the gods for wealth to buy a fishing boat and go out to sea. Their wish is granted when they win the lottery, but the excitement is short-lived when they discover the amount is only $330. Having vowed to hire a troupe to thank the gods, they rack their brains to honor their promise, but all their plans exceed their budget. They consider splitting the money but fear the wrath of the gods. Fu-quan then hatches a plan to perform a god-thanking play, where the trio play the gods to show their gratitude, but the preparation process stirs up suspicion and tests their friendship. As they apologize to each other and choose to fulfill their promise, a gust of wind sends the lottery flying at the beginning of the play. The trio races after it, risking their chance to prove their loyalty to the gods.
