Saurav Kumar is an independent filmmaker based in New Delhi (India). He has written & directed short film CHILGAM in 2018 that garnered wide acclaim and was officially selected at the International Film Festival of Shimla and New Delhi Film Festival.
He has also directed & edited 2 episodes of a talk-show APNI GULLY, short videos “DR. AMBEDKAR, ARE YOU PROUD?” and “LOT LIKE LOVE” that are available on YouTube.
He is the founder & creative director at Pocket Studios Films.
The idea of the film had originated while I was looking to tell a more personal story of people dealing with a certain kind of loss or separation, and it was at the same time when I came across a poem after having read many real accounts of personal stories - of course as an attempt to get idea - that finally helped me in articulating what I was trying to find. It was a poem ‘East Coker’ by T S Eliot whose final lines “In my end is my beginning” gave me everything that I was looking for.
It was through writing this film for little over a month that I started to realize the metaphorical expressions present around us – the transition of seasons, color of leaves etc. that I attempted to include in the film.
