A Tale of 2 Estates - The Prologue

‘A Tale of 2 Estates‘ is a music-making and live performance project which brings together emerging rappers, classical musicians, filmmakers, and theatre makers.

It is a story of Bradford's youth told through live music, theatre and film—two lads from different cultures who have to grow up fast in a struggle to find their identities. Forced to navigate loyalties, crime and prejudices, the events detail their survival and shine a light on situations familiar to many.

Director Statement

The making of this project changed my outlook on collaboration. If I'm to be totally honest, it's not something I do particularly well. Though, not for reasons such as control or vanity but just because I've been mostly alone on this journey from the start. That completely changed here. I felt supported, taken care of, cared about, appreciated and welcomed. I felt heard, which is one of the great joys this project has brought me. Being a cog in this wonderful machine of people is an honour I won't forget for a while. I'm grateful to have been afforded the opportunity to contribute to this labour of love.
