The film "A TIME I'VE BEEN THROUGH” is a biographical docudrama about the life of most famous romanian actor Constantin Codrescu that combines artistic sequences about the fabulous career and troubled fate of the actor with archive images but also with stories about Constantin Codrescu told by famous artists, directors, writers, film critics.
The film follows Constantin Codrescu from the early 1930s when he was a simple kid until the early 1990s. In this sensational story you will discover moments from the actor's life unfolded in a captivating film that begins with a childhood in which the father is arrested and then continues with moments when his own mother poisons his wife. The actor's destiny becomes a problem for the newly installed Stalinist regime, only to then come into direct conflict with the Ceausescu regime. The communists invented for Constantin Codrescu a connection, when he was only 7 years old, with Zelea Codreanu. From that moment he is considered a legionnaire and the security reports categorize the actor as "an element of unhealthy social origin, not attached to the democratic regime, characterized as arrogant, defiant, having friends only with elements with old conceptions, elements hostile to the regime" he was immediately expelled from theater without any right of appeal. He had become the "black man."
Constantin Codrescu lived for a while with the pain of the talented actor who could no longer go on stage. His way of not bowing to the communist regime but also his acting talent generated a monstrous coalition to stone him. It all culminated in the abduction of his wife from the street and her confinement in the security cellars.
