A Story About Not Giving Up: The Autistic Twins

In creating this documentary, my intention was to shed light on the remarkable journey of two extraordinary individuals, showcasing their triumphs, challenges, and unwavering spirit. Through their story, I aim to raise awareness about the marginalized individuals on the autism spectrum in China who face significant barriers in accessing resources and opportunities for personal growth and integration into the workforce.

From the very beginning, my goal was to capture the essence of their struggle, their determination, and their unwavering spirit. I wanted to portray the reality of their lives, with all its ups and downs, in a way that would resonate deeply with our viewers.

This film traces their incredible transformation, beginning with their difficulties in traditional education settings. We witness their discovery of a hidden talent for singing, which ultimately propels them onto the national stage, bringing recognition and acceptance. However, life takes an unexpected turn when the COVID-19 pandemic strikes, leading to their loss of employment at a local grocery shop.

But it is in the face of adversity that we see their resilience shine brightest. Through this powerful narrative, I aim to convey the importance of providing opportunities and support for marginalized individuals, emphasizing the transformative impact it can have on their lives.

This film is a testament to the indomitable human spirit, the power of community, and the potential that lies within each individual, regardless of their circumstances.
