Tavis Putnam is a filmmaker from Treaty 1 Territory: Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
Exploring the squirmy middle ground between comedy and tragedy, his films have screened at the Gimli International Film Festival, the Winnipeg Underground Film Festival, and on NoBudge.
He is currently pursuing his MFA in Film at York University in Toronto.
Made over the course of almost three years, with a pandemic in the middle, A Social is the story of one lonely and socially ill-equipped young man and his attempts to get people to go to his mum and her boyfriend's Wedding Social--a local tradition and popular fundraising tactic employed by Manitoba's soon-to-be-married for decades.
