I wanted to become a filmmaker after watching Maniratnam films, notably Nayagan, which inspired and motivated me towards cinema. I started making short films during my college years with my friends where I started learning about cinema. I made two short films prior to directing Aswastha namely Yaar (who) and Uraga Pathaakam. I learnt a lot of lessons in these two short films which made me make Aswastha, slightly at a better scale.
