I've been making my own little films for over seven years now, mostly in the arthouse scene. My first ever big submission to a film festival was the Raindance 2017 with a film called "The Sound of Silence". The film itself was...... well....... okay, so the fact it didn't get in wasn't the biggest surprise in the world but we live and learn. I love to shoot in black and white and I love trying to create visual shots that flow; if I can get away with it in a slow tracking shot, I will. I've worked with big crews, small crews, no crews, money, no money, whatever possible to get the story across. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. The more I've filmed the more I've been able to see what I can do and more importantly what I can't do, what works and what doesn't. I'm proud of what I have achieved, and hopefully this project can allow me to continue to grow as a filmmaker.
I have a habit of going off on a tangent while filming and during the production of our big budget debut "Love Blue" we found ourselves with some time to spare while waiting for additional equipment to shoot certain scenes. During this week long period we decided to shoot a short film off the cuff and literally shot as we wrote it. Having that kind of creative freedom was one of the most refreshing experiences I think any of us had.
