Experiencing Interruptions?

"ARCADIA" was born from the encounter between the director and Stefano Filipponi, songwriter, performer and designer. The film is a portrait of Stefano's human evolution, an artist with an incandescent spirit who performs in a macrocosm where desire and fantasy, light and darkness, theatrically and sensibly intertwine with each other. These essences give life to self-determination and the importance of vulnerability as a peculiar human characteristic. Stefano's vulnerability becomes a strong and bright spark of life: a burning space of re-imagination and resistance, in which potential destinies and new narratives are born where One can inevitably be One and be Other, to be one and to be multiple.
"ARCADIA" celebrates being sensitive to one's own queerness which finds the strongest means to assert itself in bravery, kindness and identity.

Director Statement

Antonio Miucci's artistic research deals with the themes of Queerness, gender and personal Identity celebrating self-expression, bravery, vulnerability and beauty, human brightness and darkness. Through the use of visual arts mixing with portrait and fashion photography, as well as the conscious use of vibrant colours, the willingness of the author is to create evocative and layered imaginaries, whose intention is to redefine our perception about gender and personal identity in contemporary society, specifically deconstructing visual and social stereotypes about masculinity. People in front of the author's camera celebrate who they want or choose to be with no prejudice and boundless freedom. In that moment, a timeless and spaceless aesthetic dimension is born, where protagonists give life to their Inner-Self in its most varied and fluid forms of expression, revealed through a profound and personal exchange between the realities of the artist and the person portrayed.
