Juan Andres Davalos is Mexican-American filmmaker from and based in Dallas, Texas. He recently directed his short film directorial debut for Southern Methodist University. Currently, striving for his degree in film, he's trying to explore the micro issues of life in a larger scale. Juan was never involved in an arts background throughout middle school or high school; however, his deep love for filmmaking fuels his will to become an established film director.
I directed A Prayer because the moment I read the script, the words and message lept out to me, making me realize this is a story that should be told. I also related to the ideas explored with Sonya St. Claire's character and how the public views and understands the work of POC filmmakers, which made me realize I need to direct this film.
