Wayne has been an avid still photographer for more than 30 years and decided to pursue his passion for moving images in the early 2000's. He has written, directed and produced seven short films and has worked on numerous other short films and corporate videos as director, producer, cinematographer, assistant director, script consultant and actor.
Wayne is currently in development for his first feature film.
I love every element of visual storytelling. A Perception of Prudence was born of a collection of long running ideas when an opportunity to shoot on one of the sound stages at the new Calgary Film Center was presented to me.
My aim for Prudence was to combine minimalistic stage elements with rich, vivid imagery. Darkness represents the walls - boundaries that enclose a society or belief system. Contained within those walls are numerous symbolic elements - colours, numbers, phrases, physical items, sounds, use of specific instruments in the score, etc. - to provide vehicles of discovery and undercurrents of social commentary.
This film was an opportunistic indulgence of discovery and expression for me as a filmmaker. Enjoy!
