APSARA DHARA { FAIRY FALLS )

Konkani Film "Apsara Dhara " is a story of a poor Boy called RAMA. Story takes place in a poverty riden poor village of India.Rama’s Father SIDDA wants his son should become Educated person. But after seeing the atrocities of society RAMA thinks MONEY is everything . He has one sister LACHMI. Rama’s father never wants to sent to her school thinking Education is useless for Female Children. Lachmi dream is to go to Egypt. Rama promises her to take her to Egypt , If he makes lot of Money.

Rama’s Father dies. Now story turns into a FAIRY TALE. He makes lot money by the grace of a FAIRY . But the money instead of bringing Happiness brings lot of troubles. Finally he realises that MONEY CANNOT BRING ANY HAPPINESS TO ANYONE. Finaly Fairy make him to realise that EDUCATION is more important than MONEY. At the end RAMA will become an enlightened soul by understanding the IMPORTANCE of EDUCATION for both BOYS and GIRLS.

Director Biography - Dr Ramesh Kamath

Dr Ramesh Kamath is a Graduate from Film and Television Institute of India ( FTII ), Pune. He worked with National award winner Film Director Late P.Lankesh for all his films such as Pallavi , Yellindalo Bandavaru etc,

Way back in 1980 Dr Kamath produced and Directed Very First Saraswath Konkani Movie titled JANA MANA and is the FIRST Konkani film shown on National Network of Doordarshann.

Dr Kamath worked as Chief Technical officer at Karnataka Film Industry Development Corporation of Karnataka Government. He directed many Documentary Films for Government of Karnataka .

Dr Ramesh Kamath is very much interested in his minority Konkani Language and produced and Directed Three Saraswath Konkani film out of SIX films which has come so far. In 2016 he Directed the Second Konkani Film AA VAI JAA SAA , which was selected and screened in INTERNATIONAL KOLKATA FILM FESTIVAL. AA VAI JAA SAA is the very first KONKANI CHILDREN FILM in that minority Language.

Now the Latest Konkani Film he Produced and Directed is APSARA DHARA ( FAIRY FALLS ) in August 2019. This is the first KONKANI Film to be shot in EGYPT and also has few Shots in 3D.

in Indian rural villages, when I saw girls were neglected by parents to give Education , I was forced to produce and Direct this movie APSARA DHARA.
