A Normal Death
"A Normal Death" is an absurd mystery that takes place in a bar, explores deep into the intricacies of "otherness" in human interactions. The routine of a group of regular patrons is disrupted when a young stranger enters, desperately searching for someone. Initially wary, the group extends an invitation, but as the night unfolds, tensions gradually rise, unveiling concealed motives and transforming their once-welcoming atmosphere into a breeding ground for violence.

“He who jumps into the void owes no explanation to those who stand and watch.” ― Jean-Luc Godard.
Robert Sapolsky in his book Behave quotes Robert Benchley “There are two kinds of people in the world: those who divide the world into two kinds of people, and those who do not.” and then Sapolsky adds to it. “There are more of the first”. Through the film ‘A Normal Death’ we try to address the idea of ‘Otherness’ in the contemporary Indian psyche.
The film ‘A Normal Death’ is conceived as an unending flow of conversations and exchanges. On the visual side, camera operates as a mere recording machine, documenting a group of regular clients in a bar counter. As Jean-Luc Godard once observed that every fictional film is a documentary of its actors. Here we try to document the actors in segments and try to edit it in to a fiction. The Actors themselves becomes the writers of their dialogues. I believe as Robert Bresson defined the Director: "The point is not to direct someone, but to direct oneself."
