ANIMIST
On a rainy evening, one drunk man overturned a wine bottle, the spilled wine drank a book down, and the drunk book frantically raped the shoes on the floor. The raped shoes gave birth to a crumpled socks. When the Socks grew up, she was married by her mother to a dying fire. The fire died out on their wedding night, and the socks became a vagrant. She fell pregnant and gave birth to a "plane" and a “train"，Afterwards, she continued her vagrant life, and fell in love with a head on a hero's sculpture on the road，The sculpture was smashed by the Red Guards but the head on the sculpture was saved by a cigarette. Then the cigarette became the socks' mother-in-law. But the cigarette and the socks did not get on well at all and the socks had to leave and continue her vagrant's life. The socks gave birth to a wallet on the road and then they went on making a living by hunting for money.
Tagging peanuts along, a piece of pork and wads of paper went around practicing fraud. After a fight, the pork decided to get out of the game. He fell into love with a free wind, and began flying high when he collected a bunch of feather for himself. But soon he was shot and arrested for seeing things that he was not supposed to see.
After he got released from prison, his friends introduced him to the Socks and her son. They decided to form a family and set up a theater showing their shadow plays to all the buildings in this small town. During this period, the wallet went out searching for his siblings: the “Plane” and the “Train” and the Pork went out looking for his lover the Wind, all their efforts went in vain. Then here came a big flood, so they had to leave. In a kitchen, they decided to commit suicide.

Born in chengdu, China in 1977
In 2002, I started experimental art creation (installation art, performance art, video art, experimental films ).
In 2005, I started to create the trilogy of experimental art work: Putrefying, Follow and Heart. Later I started to combine with several art forms to create. The trilogy of live art: Heart sound in 2010, September in 2011, Sparkling sound in 2012(experimental films, sound art, performance art), were accomplished in this period. This was followed by two experimental video game projects, five independent animation projects and more mash-up media art projects. At present, projects being completed and under way include Sister Xiaohong and Art Museum, Dream(game, animation, sculpture, theatre, piicture book), Action of deciduous teeth, which is created by individual and family, Unfold of public space and so on.
I have been invited by the Dusseldorf City Culture Bureau, Germany to participate in the exchange, by Auckland Polytechnic University and Ocalan Art Gallery, New Zealand to make lectures and have made solo exhibition in Auckland, exhibitions, academic exchanges and creation in France. In addition,I have also curated solo exhibition and group exhibition in the Macau Ngau Shed Art District Gallery.
I was employed by the DT platform, the first digital painting platform in China, as an art consultant, served as the academic consultant on art project in Sichuan University Art Museum, distinguished art workshop artist of video media in Hubei Academy of Fine Arts.
The trilogy of experimental images (Putrefying, Follow, Heart) were written as a doctoral thesis by Dr. Yiman in the University of California. Articles about the view of the experimental film, like Pick up the lights and look at the sword, have been published in Movie Author. Chen Qiang: My Spirit City, published in China Television (Animation) , has been reprinted by ‘HowNet’ and ‘Knowledge’. The experimental art works were collected by many institutions and individuals at home and abroad, such as the North Carolina University Library, the Columbia University Library, and the Dusseldorf City Culture Bureau, Germany, the Li Xianting Film Fund, Hong Kong Arts Centre Auckland Polytechnic University and Sichuan University.
