A Memory of Petra
A historical drama that follows Johnas Fruber, a composer living in
1930s Germany. After the passing of his beloved wife, Johnas takes the stage to present his life’s work: one final symphony in her memory. On the eve of the performance, Johnas’s brother-in-law attempts to acquire the piece for Nazi propaganda. The composer follows his moral compass, abandoning the performance and fleeing Berlin with his music.

My first friend in the United States was my grandfather’s film camera; my brother and I had recently immigrated from Ireland and would shoot goofy shorts with the kids on our street. Twelve years later, and I’m proud to say that little has changed. As a film production student at Chapman’s Dodge College, I’ve had the opportunity to expand my passion for storytelling alongside incredible friends and faculty.
Art is incredibly powerful; it can fuel either the deepest or darkest of emotions. As storytellers, it’s our obligation to dismiss the latter. No matter the glory or legacy, art should connect – not drive us apart.
