Director Statement

A strange journey through the underground life of the Iranian young generation. Made completely illegal, without permission. We were actually arrested twice while shooting this film but just for being teenagers out in public, they didn’t even notice we were shooting a film.
Made as a form of protest alongside the "Woman Life Freedom" movement, this is one of the first films showing an uncensored image of the younger generation of Iran made by the younger generation of Iran, the ones leading the revolution. Putting a spotlight on the queer community of Iran, including explicit language, taboo topics, erotic scenes and no hijab. “A Man Passes by the Soaked Trees” is a film about revenge of a whole generation of women against a oppressive regime.
