The film "AMMA" is a tribute to all the Covid Warriors, especially the frontline workers who lost their lives for saving others life. Frontline workers did their duty well to save us from the deadly virus.
The demise of Dr Shanmuga Priya who was an 8months pregnant and did her Covid duty with all the passion towards her profession made my heart instinct to give a tribute for her sacrifice, with a short film.
My aim with this short film is to insist the public follow the Covid Safety Measures, so that let us retain the health workers who are really helping us during this pandemic.
I want to set an example by avoiding going out with a camera to shoot a film, so I decided to do this with still images with a strong message and dialogue script.
Based on my script I purchased few images from freepik website and completed this film by staying at home with my wife's voice (Baby voice), Mom's voice (Mother Voice) and My Voice (All male voice).
This was made on an experimental basis so that I can teach my students about the importance of script and complete the film with limited resources.
I am happy that the Tamil Nadu Govt. and Madurai City Corporation, India recognised my film with Best Short Film Award & Best Director Award. And also the film has been received 3 Best awards in 3 different film festivals in India.
Thank you,
Ebenezer
