Director Biography

The daughter of Dominican & Uruguayan immigrants, Vyky left her career in education to pursue filmmaking. She writes and direct stories in hopes to provide audiences with a cathartic experience. She’s drawn to biopics that showcase women in extraordinary situations, often needing to make life or death choices. Vyky is fascinated by the power of culture so she moved to Los Angeles to begin her pursuit of directing the future Britney Spears biopic.

Director Statement

During the Covid-19 lockdown, when social distrust was at an all-time high in my lifetime, and, in general as we've become more reliant on dating apps, I was missing the days of an authentic romantic connection. Amateurs is about believing in yourself, putting yourself out there, letting the unknown into our space, and giving someone new a chance.
