A Journey Like No Other

Lukas Socha and Tomas Vanourek, lifelong friends from Plasy near Pilsen in Czech Republic, set themselves a grand goal – to repeat the Eurasian voyage of two Czech travel legends Jiří Hanzelka and Miroslav Zikmund from years 1959 – 1964, find at least 100 places and to document them in the same way as Z+H. Their `so far` life`s expedition dedicated to 100th birthday of Miroslav Zikmund.

The travel documentary film follows Lukas and Tomas with time gaps in different parts of the world during their almost year-long travel set by 60 years old photos. It consists of authentic moments and scale of random situations and encounters. Through sincere spontaneity and their very humor we observe not only the process of seeking and finding, but also into their everyday routine, joys, hard times and very personal moments. In places like remote villages in Sumatra, rough mountains in Kamchatka or sacred burial grounds in India, young travelers are accompanied by not only local guides - king of cannibals among them, but also voiceless guides like river Ganges which flows with the Indians lifes narration.

Film`s premiere screening opened the international film festival Finále Plzeň and it is a full length debut of the director Viktorie Lorinczová.
