Experiencing Interruptions?

A Holiness of Diversity

That afternoon was different from the previous days, Yudi and Seno who usually play games were forced to go to pakdhe Toha's stall to buy a side dish because of Yudi's mother's orders. In the afternoon, the two of them did not go home, apparently they were arguing about something.

Director Statement

Indonesia is a country that has many traditions and diverse cultures in each region. So tolerance between people is very important in life. Tolerance among humans is still very minimal. Tolerance traditions that exist in each region will easily fade, because the development of the current era refers to the selfishness of each individualism. In this film the tradition raised is a Saren dish that has 2 views, religiously Islam is prohibited because it comes from blood and in Javanese tradition and health, has a lot of protein and hereditary food. Non-Muslim religious Jews judge Muslim Seno when eating Saren. In this case, the underlined i is religious and individual tolerance rather than just looking at stigma and one factor only.
In addition, in this film also alludes to the tradition of HIK, which is now HIK only prioritizes sales, packaging and profits without looking at the value of traditions and ancestral relics which are full of philosophy and taste. In addition, the HIK seller ( Mr. Toha ) must bear the moral burden as an adhan/ muezzin and the social burden as a HIK seller with the Saren dish, which, according to the stigma of the community, is haram food and is considered bad for the seller. However, it is not like the reality where HIK is a place for people/ neighbors to leave their food to reach consumers. For this reason, in this film several religious and social interests are clashed with the hope of looking back at each other. Therefore, the tradition of HIK should not be extinct and most importantly respect each other's trust in the same God. My prayer from the film played by Seno and Yudi is that we can interpret that we must know ourselves and love each other, respect each of the regions that are still developing their local traditional culture.
