Bailey is a multi-faceted artist and an award-winning filmmaker and actor. Growing up amidst the nomadic lifestyle of her rodeo parents and later finding her roots on the vast plains of Wyoming, Bailey's upbringing intertwined closely with themes of mortality and the natural world. Early exposure to her family's funeral home business further deepened her close relationship with and curiosity about death.
Her creative endeavors are deeply rooted in this profound connection, exploring the intricate dance between humanity and nature, with a particular emphasis on mortality. Drawing inspiration from her love for theater and classical literature, Bailey's artistic vision gravitates towards the poetic and lyrical, aiming to evoke visceral emotional experiences through visual medium. Her short film Cattle Call, a haunting tale of a solitary ranchhand stalked by a mysterious force prowling the ranch, earned her the prestigious Grillo Award in 2022, showcasing her talent and distinct narrative voice.
Presently, she is engrossed in the production of her upcoming film A God Who Bleeds, delving into the religious trauma experienced by women, juxtaposing the preached purity of Jesus' blood with the societal stigma surrounding menstrual blood. She is also finishing her BA in Cinema Studies at the University of Colorado Boulder and focusing on cultivating small joys in life.
