Filmography

I grew up with a dream of making films; In 2009 I was honored to be an Assistant Costume Designer in film titled “KINYARWANDA” BY ARLICK BRAWN.
After being very much interested I decided to follow different cinema Workshops like:

Documentary filmmaking workshop by the American Oscar nominee James Bertrand Longley.
I attended a workshop at the Maisha Film Lab
I attended the school of Cinema about Screenwriting and Directing with the great parson in the world Hail Gerima from Unit state of America
I attended the final Art with the groups of Emotion picture from United King dorm
I wrote, directed and produced many movies like, TAMANI, LA CLE, THE FEAR, SMOL PAPER (agapapuro), KANYAMBO ect…

“KIVUTO”, my first film which won Different Awards Best movie, Best Director, Best African talent in the different Film Festival in world
It won” SIGNIS AWARD” in Zanzibar international Film Festival it also has been screened in various film festivals around the world: “Tampere film festival” in Finland, “African Film FESTIVAL” in Belgium and “TV5 Afrique”, I won GRANT FROM CFI AND CANAL+ FOR SHORT DOCUMENTARY PROJECT “LA CLE After All, now I become Ambassador of CANAL+ of Rwanda until today

After many courses and many different film Festival completion I did around the world.
I became a mentor for Different workshop where they are many filmmakers now they can writer and Director they movies and I create a system of short time during vacation for yang and Tanager filmmakers to the developer they are skills in movie industry for the next generation.

I created my own company "KIVUTO PRODUCTION LTD, my company produces different things like “advertising, movies, media consultant, TV show, series and it also works on mass media communication

I was working with the different TV station like TV10 as assistant producer, France2, France3
I attended Durban Talent Campus as Director ” where The Project KIVUTO feature was awarded SPECIAL MENTION, I produced a short film titled Kanyambo which official selected in Durban International film festival 2014

IN 2015 I was honored to be member of the jury Festicab in Burundi after, I Become Director programmer of Mashariki African Film festival

Director statement "AGAPAPURO"
  
AGAPAPURO is a film that shows us how our old people are abandoned, when it was not necessary, since, as the Kinyarwanda proverb mentions (URUKWAVU RUKUZE RWONKA ABANA) which means that old people are dependent on their children .

AGAPAPURO is a story of a parent abandoned by his children who have changed mentalities, they do not care about the living conditions that their parent leads. He finds himself in a bad condition like someone who has not had child. He lived in the DISTRICT OF MUHANGA SOUTHERN PROVINCE campaign with Anne, his 11-year-old daughter, who was not lucky enough to be on the school bench. As, the old man was sickly, he gave Anne a piece of paper and coins to get her medicine. Unfortunately, the pharmacy was very far from home. Very hard, Anne found the medicine. Poor ANNE arriving home. She thought it was fine with her grandfather.

AGAPAPURO is a film of psychological suffering towards parental affection. ANNE's career is her grandfather shows us a current reality of life between parents and children in African society.
AGAPAPURO is a film that reflects the suffering of parental affection.
