Director Biography - Alexander Zarechnev

I was born in 1988 in Barnaul, Altai Krai, in the family of an officer of the USSR Air Force and a teacher of the Russian language and literature.
Until 2003, we lived in a small town Kamen-na-Obi, the Russian outback. I gained my first filmmaking experience in early school years when I used an old VHS-camera.
In 2003 we moved to Barnaul, the capital of the Altai Krai, where I was participating in different amateur theatre activities and shooting amateur movies.
From 2005 to 2011 I was studying at the Faculty of Law of the Altai State University, participating in the comedy crew “Perla Negra” and shooting short comedy movies.
From 2011 to 2012 I was in the Russian Armed Forces (Ground Forces, Junior Sergeant).
In 2012 and 2013 I established the law firm and the appraisal company, taught legal disciplines at the Altai Institute of Economics.
In 2015 I was engaged into winter ski tourism and documentary filmmaking.
From 2016 to 2018 I was participating in two theater projects of a Barnaul amateur theatre Alchemists.
From 2016 to 2018 I was studying at the Ostankino High School of Film and Television, Vladimir Tumayev Training Workshop.
I successfully defended my final film project.
For two years I’ve finished 2 short fiction films and 2 documentary films.
Nowadays I’m an independent filmmaker and implementing a new film project.
