Director Statement

Hi thanks for viewing my page, I am excited to present my first fully realised short film. The principle concept of this short was to create a new 'deconstructed' folk-tale based on a paper by Vladimir Propp entitled "The Morphology of the Folktale" in which he elaborates an extremely detailed sytagmatic analysis of the underlying formal structure of European fairy-tales.
This production was shot in Cliffe, on the Kent side of the Thames Estuary. The abandoned boat featured as part of the backdrop is a 17th century galleon that ran aground during rough weather, amazingly much of the original structure can still be seen to this day (access is tricky however!)
