Director Statement

I was 17, I had just broken up with my first serious boyfriend, and I knew I wanted to make movies. So I sat down, wrote my first script, and tried desperately to make sense of what I was feeling. Do I need a reason to dump someone?

After a failed attempt to produce the film with some friends in high school, the project was given new life years later in film school. Older and more mature, my first script became my first real film, rejuvenated by creative experience and another waning romance.

We've all heard the expression "take your broken heart and turn it into art," but for this one, "break a heart and turn it into art" might be more accurate. I hope to present a take on breakups not often seen, but still more than worthy of an audience.
