Director Biography - Yatra Srinivassan

Yatra Srinivassan has been making short films and documentary films for over a decade. His films have social and environmental awareness, be it the 30-odd short and documentary films or the 45 corporate films he’s made for NGOs.
He is native of a village just outside Auroville, a International Township and has been
part of so many initiatives taken by Auroville.
Yatra Srinivassan continues to be active in theatre, and regularly stages performances in his surrounding villages near Pondicherry, India.

Director Statement

I have devoted my life to film and theater. For a long time, I worked on street theatre and wanted to keep alive the now-fading art form, as it serves as another vehicle through which I hope to effect social change.
My aim is to bring about social change, and when I made the shift to filmmaking, it seemed only natural that I continued in the same vein.
