A Day In Our Life

A single mother suffers from mental issues. Her 9 year-old daughter starts to take of herself and her younger sister in their daily life. However, it seems hard for the mother to connect with the two girls. On one night, because of the mother's violent action, the 9 year-old girl realizes that it's difficult to live with her mother.

Director Biography - Chieh Ju Pai

Independent filmmaker Chieh Ju Pai is a native of Taiwan and has worked in Taiwan and the U.S. in the past five years as a writer/ director/ producer. Chieh Ju’s work examines family relationships, faith, love, transformation and the power of healing. Her 10th short film, Pup Pup, was recently screened at the Santa Rosa 48 hrs Film Sprint.

Her work has been screened across the world, including her first short film, “Bedside,” which was distributed in France by Gobella Productions. She is also an accomplished producer, most recently on “Sanzu No Kawa,” in 2017, which screened at festivals across the United States.

She came to the US. for pursuing her study in MFA in Film from 2015-2018. During 2013-2015, she worked on commercials and short films as a project manager in Taiwan. In 2012, she was awarded the scholarship of government sponsorship for overseas study from the Ministry of Education in Taiwan. She was the only scholarship recipient of the year to study film in overseas. Her first produced short film —A War In The Room was awarded the Best Experimental Film of Golden Harvest Awards for Outstanding Short Films in 2011 in Taiwan.
