Craig Fisher is a Welsh Writer and Director who specialises in Horror and LGBTQ genres. He has created many short films, which have gone on to win multiple awards and accolades, exciting and terrifying audiences around the world.
His 3rd film, Angelystor was nominated for a Golden Stake Award at the International Vampire Film and Arts festival in Transylvania, as well as hitting many other festivals Internationally.
This was followed up by Closure, an It’s My Shout production, broadcast on BBC 2 Wales in the autumn of 2017 and won an award for Best Film in Outlanica Con. Shortly afterwards, Craig wrote and directed Night Mære, a short film which went on to win numerous awards internationally, including a London Short Film competition in conjunction with Hammer, and eventually having a home on Eli Roth and Jason Blum’s Crypt TV on YouTube, having over 300K+ views.
Last year (2018) Craig’s films You’ve Been Bad and The Midnight Jester, were shot back-to-back as a micro-horror challenge. Craig wrote and directed the two films in two nights with just two weeks prep and a two week turnaround. The idea behind the madness, was to get the shorts submitted to festivals in time for Halloween 2018!
This year, 2019, Craig unleashes his latest piece of work, A Christmas Nightmare, influenced by 80's Horror, and paying tribute to one of his favourite films, Creepshow.
With a story deriving from our childhood, my writing partner and I had similar experiences growing up and incorporated them into this script. Both growing up in Wales during the 80's, trying to find our place in the world with our budding sexuality, and our heartbreak of coming out and not being accepted. Fusing these experiences with our love and passion for horror, A Christmas Nightmare was born.
This passion script stayed with us for a few years as we tried, and failed to find funding; but the story was too important for us to let it go. So we moved forward and created this short on a Zero Budget. Nothing and no one was going to stop us.
