A Black & White Dream
In a ruined amusement park where bread is a luxury, a desperate mother struggles to save her starving children. In a monochrome world where gold and stone look the same, value has lost meaning. Finding a golden rock, she begins a surreal journey to buy a mythical blue tangerine. In a world where no one knows what deserves value, the line between human and animal disappears.

Best Directing
Mohsen Koranian, born in 2000 in Kermanshah, Iran, studied Film Directing at Pars University of Art and Architecture. He is currently active as a director and cinematographer. His notable achievement includes working as the cinematographer for The Last Temptation (2024), which was officially selected at the Oscar-Qualifying LA Shorts International Film Festival. A Black & White Dream marks his first serious short film as a director.
A Black & White Dream explores how greed distorts value and dehumanizes society. In a world where bread is a luxury and gold and stone look the same, the poor are forced to trade dignity for survival.
Using black & white imagery, analog lenses, a red filter, and intentional continuity-breaking techniques, I aimed to show that value is an illusion created by humans. In a place where colors do not exist, the search for a blue tangerine becomes a symbol of lost meaning — a world where the boundary between human and animal disappears, and where we no longer understand what truly deserves value.
