”ABYSS” is an experimental short film that conveys mixed emotions via delicate visual and aural design. It puts the audience into a very active position, letting them experience the supernatural aura which is fulfilled with symbolic and metaphoric elements.

Director Biography - CHEN Shuai

CHEN Shuai，who is an experimental film director and a freelance cinematographer from China. Bachelor degree from Beijing Film Academy cinematography department in 2017 and now study at the graduate school of Chung-Ang University, major in advanced imaging science, multimedia and film.
陈帅，生于中国北京，实验电影导演、自由摄影师。北京电影学院摄影系2017届本科毕业生，韩国中央大学尖端影像大学院电影系硕士在读。

Director Statement

As for me, image creation is not only a way of recording reality, I prefer to immerse my emotions into the images so that the audience can feel the unique inner rhythms in my works, like poetry and music.
