The Albuquerque Film & Music Experience (AFME) hosts over 7,000 attendees each year and presents a fusion of film, music and special events that create a unique and intimate experience for everyone in attendance.

Our Mission:
AFME brings together award-winning and up-and-coming filmmakers and musicians from around the world to showcase and celebrate film and music, and provide a platform for education, collaboration, discovery and the sharing of impactful stories.

Our Vision:
To enhance cultural richness by integrating film and music programs that provide entertainment and education for the community, contribute to the creative economy and support Albuquerque as an epicenter for film, music and the arts.

Beginning in 2019, our program will be quite selective with only 40 to 45 projects accepted into the festival. This will allow everyone to experience films, Intimate Conversations, concerts, after parties and special events together.

The Albuquerque Film & Music Experience is presented by the AFME Foundation, a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization.

Amazing experience, great festival and great people running it

What a great, entertaining and vital festival. The filmmakers, musicians and staff were all engaged and available throughout the entire process. Ivan and Lori never passed by without saying hello and asking how everything was going. So many great venues, films, parties, Q&A's, industry members. Met a lot of great local artists as well as from around the world. This was a very smart move on their part in giving equal balance to both the film AND music industry and all the great crossover that's always been there but never quite like this. Which is why, I think, they're pulling in such great artists after only 6 years. If, as a filmmaker you're lucky enough to get in, make sure you actually attend. As a fledgling filmmaker who had a short accepted and screened, I was always treated as a worthy part of the festival process. Cheers to AFME.

AFME is a terrific festival run by an amazing group of people with solid support from the Albuquerque community. Communication was fantastic, accommodations were comfortable, venue screenings looked and sounded great. In addition to film screenings and panels/intimate conversations with interesting people, the nightly music performances and after parties made the festival even more fun. And I can't say enough about the wonderful people and volunteers who are the heart of the festival. Thank you Ivan, Lori, and especially Martha for such a fantastic experience in ABQ.

I so wanted to go to this festival. But the distance made it impossible. The communication, updates and general kindness of Lori and Ivans emails was so greatly appreciated. Maybe next year!
