Heather is a 20 year old director and cinematographer from Essex. Her strengths lie in creating strong themes based on social issues. Her previous experience in fine art has allowed her to branch off into mixing experimental and narrative cinema together.
Previously trained in Fine Art, my need to bring social issues and strong themes to an awareness has branched out to filmmaking. I am a young director and cinematographer from Essex, but I am now studying in the north west of the UK. I am always looking to experiment within film, developing ways to create powerful cinema and to make the audience think.
Making this documentary was something that I felt needed to be done in light of recent news of Sarah Everard, Blessing Olusegun and the study that 97% of young women in the UK have experienced sexual harassment. I am deeply concerned about the societal ways women are treated and normalised, and I hope to make more documentaries about this issue in the future.
